The Canadian Association of Research Administrators (CARA) is the national voice for research administrators in Canada and a nationwide community that brings together research administration professionals fulfilling a diverse range of roles in a field that is complex and ever-evolving. CARA is committed to supporting the profession by offering members a safe, inclusive, and professional space to learn and grow through networking with peers, sharing best practices, professional development, mentorship, and leadership opportunities.

With over 1000 members, our professional organization’s strength is in its diversity and comprehensive approach to research administration. CARA provides a critical interface between all stakeholders in the management of the research enterprise.

Alberta Health Services – Research

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is Canada’s first and largest province-wide, fully-integrated health system, responsible for delivering health services to the over four million people living in Alberta, as well as to some residents of Saskatchewan, B.C. and the Northwest Territories. AHS programs and services are offered at over 650 facilities throughout the province, including hospitals, clinics, continuing care facilities, cancer centres, mental health facilities and community health sites.   The province also has an extensive network of community-based services designed to assist Albertans maintain and/or improve health status.

Alberta Innovates

Alberta Innovates is building on Alberta’s strengths in health, environment, energy, food, fibre and emerging technologies and is partnering with organizations to improve health and clinical research across the province. Managed by Alberta Innovates, the Alberta Clinical Research Consortium (ACRC) initiative aims to build capacity, increase efficiency and streamline the set-up and conduct of clinical health research in Alberta.
