COMMUNITY FORUMS

Throughout the year, N2 hosts online Community Forums to bring our members together and share activities taking place at N2, N2 Committees and the larger Canadian clinical trials landscape. Previous presenters have been from Health Canada, The Canadian Institutes of Health Research, and other N2 partners.

The 2024 N2 Community Forums brought together some fantastic discussions and insights throughout the year! In March, we kicked things off with updates on CIHR’s Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research (SPOR), Canada’s largest initiative in patient-oriented research. We also shared how everyone can contribute their ideas for its future. Plus, we explored PASSERELLE’s awesome repository of free tools and resources—perfect for anyone involved in patient-oriented research.

In April, our Health Canada Workshop offered a wealth of knowledge, covering key topics like an overview of CTCP, inspection strategies, and international collaboration efforts. We dove into Guide 0100, the inspection process, and Guide 43’s approach to risk classification. The workshop wrapped up with a lively panel and Q&A, where attendees could get their burning questions answered.

May was a special month as we celebrated International Clinical Trials Day! We had the pleasure of hearing from Raisa Chowdhury from the Canadian Cancer Trials Network (3CTN), who introduced their exciting new EDI Wayfinder Tool to enhance equity, diversity, and inclusion in clinical research. Sarah Bridges from the Maritime SPOR SUPPORT Unit and Co-Chair of the N2 Public Engagement Committee also shared her insights with a DIY Community Engagement Toolkit, aimed at boosting community involvement in research.

Instead of a Fall N2 Community Forum this year, we hosted an interactive ideation workshop to gather ideas and plan for the 2025 N2 Annual Conference. It was a great opportunity for everyone to come together and shape the future of our events!
