Sault Area Hospital

A community-based organization, Sault Area Hospital services the entire Algoma District, a land area of 49,000 km2 with a population of over 115,000.  In addition to standard medical services and clinics, our multi-disciplinary team provides preventative care, psychological and social support, dietary education, and palliation.  We also are pleased to provide both systemic and radiation therapy for oncology patients, thanks to a local radiation bunker and a unique partnership with Health Sciences North in Sudbury.  Telemedicine also is used frequently to connect local patients with out-of-town specialists, reducing the expenses and time involved with travelling to other centres for treatment.  Our ICCARE values (Integrity, Compassion, Collaboration & Partnership, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) guide our day-to-day operations to ensure that we provide the best possible care to all patients throughout their journey.
