Lakeridge Health is a publicly funded, non-profit regional hospital network serving Durham Region, Ontario. Established in 1998 through the merger of multiple community facilities, the system now includes five hospital sites and over 20 community care locations, supporting a population of approximately 650,000 people. It employs more than 8,700 staff, physicians, and volunteers and offers a full continuum of care—including acute inpatient services, emergency departments, long-term care, mental health, addictions, and regional cancer and chronic disease programs. The Lakeridge Health Education & Research Network (LHEARN) supports clinical education and research through partnerships like the Queen’s University Family Medicine program and regional simulation training.
