The Women’s Health Research Institute, housed within BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre and affiliated with UBC, is Western Canada’s leading institute dedicated to advancing women’s and newborns’ health research. Since its founding in 2005, WHRI has grown into a vibrant network of over 500 researchers, providing mentorship, funding, and infrastructure to support research in areas such as reproductive health, maternal mental health, gender-based health inequities, and Indigenous health. Their vision centers on transforming women’s and newborn health through rigorous investigation, community engagement, and media-driven knowledge translation.
