CIUSSS de la Capitale‑Nationale (IUSMQ, IUPLSSS, IRDPQ, CJQIU)

The CIUSSS de la Capitale‑Nationale is a Québec university-affiliated health authority serving Québec City, Charlevoix, and Portneuf regions (approximately 736,000 residents). Established in 2015, the CIUSSS brings together 10 health establishments under a single network of over 16,000 employees  . It encompasses four university-designated institutes:

  • IUSMQ (Institut universitaire en santé mentale de Québec) – a leading mental health research and treatment centre affiliated with Université Laval  .

  • IUPLSSS (Institut universitaire de première ligne en santé et services sociaux) – focuses on primary care integration and sustainable health practices  .

  • IRDPQ (Institut de réadaptation en déficience physique de Québec) – centers on rehabilitation, accessibility, and enhancing community inclusion  .

  • CJQIU (Centre jeunesse de Québec – Institut universitaire) – advances youth and family health through multidisciplinary research  .

These institutes drive research, teaching, knowledge translation, and clinical excellence—fostering innovation across mental health, rehabilitation, public health, youth services, and primary care.
