Her academic background and professional focus center on global health and international development, particularly in research policy and governance. Jean is passionate about advancing research program development, building clinical trial capacity, and fostering research culture in emerging and under-resourced regions.

Whitney Duff is the Clinical Research Lead at ZYUS Life Sciences, a Canadian pharmaceutical company specializing in cannabinoid-based therapies. With a PhD in Clinical Research from the University of Saskatchewan, she leads clinical trial design, regulatory alignment, and implementation—most notably as the lead investigator of the first-in-human HOPE study for Trichomylin®, a novel cannabinoid formulation for managing chronic osteoarthritis pain.
In her role, Whitney bridges scientific insight with regulatory precision, ensuring that study protocols meet compliance standards while prioritizing patient safety. Her work supports ZYUS’s mission to advance evidence-based cannabinoid therapies through rigorous clinical development and regulatory excellence.

Jacqueline Senych is a dedicated nursing professional and educator committed to advancing patient care, ethical practice, and leadership in healthcare. She currently serves as a Sessional Instructor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Calgary, where she mentors future nursing leaders and supports the development of advanced practice competencies.
With a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), Jacqueline combines clinical expertise, ethical insight, and a deep passion for education. Her work fosters critical thinking, professional growth, and a culture of excellence in nursing across Alberta and beyond.

Dorothy Herbert has been the Research Ethics Board (REB) Leader at Interior Health (IH) since 2011. In this role, she manages research ethics applications, supports REB members in their responsibilities, and leads the development of policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Dorothy also collaborates with REB administrators across the province under the partnership agreement supported by Michael Smith Health Research BC. She is an active member of several Communities of Practice and serves as a mentor for new REB administrators.
Previously, Dorothy held a similar role at Providence Health Care in Vancouver. She has also worked as a clinical research coordinator specializing in nephrology, taught in the clinical research coordinator training program at BCIT, and earlier in her career, practiced as a registered dietitian.
She lives in Kelowna, BC, on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Syilx Nation.

Sarah Bridges is an early career researcher passionate about patient engagement, equitable access, and knowledge translation. As a Research Coordinator at the Maritime SPOR SUPPORT Unit (MSSU) at the Saint John Regional Hospital, she supports patient-oriented research aimed at improving health and well-being in the Maritimes. More recently, her work has focused on enhancing access and onboarding processes for patient partners on research teams.
At MSSU, Sarah leads qualitative research and analysis, develops knowledge translation plans and outreach activities, and coordinates a wide range of health research projects. She is especially committed to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in healthcare and research. This dedication led her to join the CTEA Committee, where she has been an active member for one year.
Sarah holds a BSc in Kinesiology and a Master’s in Applied Health Services Research, both from the University of New Brunswick. She is a recipient of both the CIHR Graduate Scholarship and the Mitacs Accelerate Fellowship. Sarah also enjoys writing grant applications in the research and non-profit sectors, where she applies her strengths in knowledge translation.
In her spare time, you’ll often find her quilting, crocheting, or snuggling with her dog Homer while cheering on her favourite baseball team.

Munaza Jamil brings over 25 years of experience in the clinical trials sector, with a strong focus on advancing equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA) in research. She is especially passionate about integrating EDIA principles into all aspects of her work, with a particular emphasis on increasing the inclusion of immigrants in clinical trials.
Munaza serves on the faculty at McMaster University, where she teaches in the Applied Clinical Research Program. She is also N2 Canada’s EDIA Champion and Co-Chair of the N2 Public Engagement Committee.
At the international level, Munaza contributes to the Joint Task Force for Clinical Trials Competency at the Multi-Regional Clinical Trials Center (MRCT) at Harvard, where she helps shape the global core competency framework for clinical research professionals.
