With the intention of accelerating our burgeoning research program, OVH invites applications from researchers for two (2) inaugural Research Chair positions. Each position provides funding to support research, teaching, and scholarly activities for experienced investigators who have demonstrated significant contributions to knowledge production and scholarship in key area(s) of impact to the communities we serve. These are three-year term positions.
Role Overview
The ideal candidate is a seasoned researcher with an entrepreneurial spirit and experience conducting research in the healthcare setting, particularly relevant to health concerns of the populations we serve, such as diabetes and/or cardiovascular disease. In addition to pursuing their own scientific work, the successful candidate will contribute to supporting and mentoring emerging researchers and will propose an original and innovative research program of high quality that is aligned with OVH’s mission to serve the community.
Qualifications
- Hold the academic qualifications appropriate to their field of research (e.g., PhD, MD, or equivalent)
- Have relevant experience engaging in the formation of, and conducting methodologically sound research
- Be recognized in their field as an outstanding and innovative researcher whose accomplishments have made significant contributions to the expansion and dissemination of knowledge
- Have held research grants as a principal investigator
- Have a track record of mentorship/leadership to develop and attract new talent and increase research capacity at OVH
