The Centre de recherche du CISSS de l’Outaouais is an integral part of this institution, which offers healthcare and social services to over 393 740 people with 9 312 employees and 5 health and social service centres; a physical disability rehabilitation centre; an intellectual disability and pervasive developmental disorder centre; an addiction rehabilitation centre; Outaouais youth centres and the Outaouais health and social services agency. The research center has four axes: Psychosocial (Mental health and intellectual disability and pervasive developmental disorder), oncology, orthopedics and primary care. The Institution is affiliated to McGill University and the University of Québec en Outaouais. Its mission is to create knowledge and support research that will benefit the population, as well as to promote the transfer of cutting edge technology and treatment to the clinical setting.
