The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) has launched three grant calls under its Clinical Trials Fund (CTF). These grants aim to support clinical trials in three ways: platforms with the development of a pan-Canadian Clinical Trials Consortium; people with the funding of training platforms; and projects through the funding of a broad spectrum of clinical trial initiatives.

Since its inception in 1945, the HRF Medal of Honour has been awarded to truly outstanding individuals whose research and/or contribution to public policies supportive of research and development in Canada have achieved international recognition.
Nominees must be Canadian residents whose work/research has been performed in Canada and has made a truly notable or pivotal contribution to the advancement of knowledge in the health sciences, health policy and/or the improvement of therapeutics and healthcare. Recipients can originate from a variety of fields and sectors including patient organizations, academia, media, industry, and the public and non-profit sectors.
The $20,000 prize will be invested into innovative health research at the Canadian academic institution of the recipient’s choice to promote further health and life sciences research in Canada.
