The Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region (RQHR) is the largest health care delivery system in southern Saskatchewan. The RQHR offers a full range of hospital, rehabilitation, community and public health, long term care, and home care services to meet the needs of more than 260,000 residents living in 120 cities, towns, villages, rural municipalities and 17 First Nation communities within the Region. The Region covers a diverse geographic area of approximately 26,663 square kilometres. RQHR’s Department of Research and Performance Support (RPS), which was founded in 1997, has grown to include 10 full-time, permanent researchers. The RPS department is a skilled team of researchers dedicated to supporting the philosophy, mission, values, and objectives of the RQHR. They provide research support and collaboration services to the staff and affiliates of the Region. They also support student and resident research training that is geographically based in Regina. Research activity continues to grow on an annual basis, with more than 300 research projects in progress within RQHR.
